The Framework
Voice Governance is the discipline of governing everything an institution says, whether the language was written by a person or generated by a machine. These essays set out what that means and what it requires. They are published openly as they are written; the practice is where the framework gets implemented.
Essay One · What Is Voice Governance?
A definition, and the borders that separate it from brand voice, content strategy, AI governance, and plain language. Why institutions maintain their buildings, their data, and their finances as systems, and run their language on habit.
Essay Two · The Permission Boundary
The written specification of what an institution’s automated language is authorized to say: which questions it may answer, which it must route to a person, and what it says at the edge between them. The governance layer that model governance, data governance, prompt design, and legal review each leave to someone else.
Further essays will cover standards, decision rights, situational guidance, and assurance. Get in touch if you want to know when the next one is published.
